There are many reasons why we can’t pivot or why we don’t even know its time for a change. Some of those answer are found through personal reflection, asking ourselves the hard questions or simply by getting intentional with who we want to become. Since we don't know the answers to these questions or because we get so comfortable with our routine, we find our self stuck! You may be at a moment in your life where a pivot is a necessity. It has to power to take us to the next level of growth in our life or even in relationships. Unless you take control of your life you will never live the life you desire or deserve to have.
I will discuss a time when I refused to take action and the feeling I had once I did. I am going to share 3 reasons we find ourselves unable to change or even recognize a change is needed. Along with 5 actions you can take as you get clear about what needs to happen next.Read More
Today, I want to talk about creating or doing something for yourself that energizes you first thing in the morning (or whenever you start your day) BEFORE you dive head first into work tasks or chores or anything that is for someone other than yourself. If you want to boost your energy for the day ahead and start your day with a sense of accomplishment then keep reading.Read More
If you aren't sure why people like myself choose a word of the year let me explain. Well, at least why "I" chose to pick a new word each year. For me, it has more to do with focus & mindfulness than anything else. I am a person that usually has a thousand ideas and then on a regular basis new ideas come to me. As someone that stays curious and thrives on exploring and discovering new things, it's really easy for me to lose focus on what my overall goal was and the reason WHY I even picked that goal, to begin with. Having a word or phrase that I can always come back to helps me to make better decisions on when I should start a new project versus tabling it for a future date. My desire this year is to ask myself if opportunities and projects are in alignment with my word(s) and decide yay or nay from there.Read More
If I could describe 2017 in one sentence it would be this… Two thousand and seventeen was a year of discovering myself, intentionally and unintentionally.
I had some first, some last and even some milestone moments. I cried a little and I laughed a lot. I doubted myself and believed in myself. I quit in my mind and started again. I took breaks from work and I fell in love with my husband all over again.Read More
From the time I was old enough to operate a stove by myself, I was in the kitchen cooking. My mom would call me after school from work and ask me if the meat she took out for dinner had thawed out. I would tell her yes, which would almost always be followed up by"Great, go ahead and get dinner started." That is how I learned how to cook.Read More

I had the pleasure a few months back to work with Kesha Lewis on her personal branding photography. Kesha is a beautiful human, an amazing mother, and a dear friend. Kesha and I met about 4 years ago at a job I used to work at. She was one of the trainers at the time. We connected almost immediately. Not too long after starting this job I got another opportunity and left that company. We continued to keep in touch over the years. So when she reached out to me to do her headshots and branding photos I was so thrilled.Read More
Time doesn't heal all wounds, patience isn't the act of doing nothing, busy isn't productive and life is not meant to be perfect. It's meant to be lived, over and over again. For me life is cyclical. I almost scrapped this post. I wrote it up and started editing it. Then I had to step away because mommy duties called. As I found myself frustrated and wanting to yell. "SIT DOWN and WAIT." I thought about my post I just wrote. This beautiful idea and goal I have to be better about choosing my words. Now, look at me, wanting to yell and fuss and do the opposite of some of the things I wrote about. So, what did I do? I sat on it for a full week and then I realized that this is the point.Read More
As I started to type this blog post I originally began it with an explanation of why I am back to my lifestyle blog, yet again, and all of this blah blah blah about how this time was going to be different. Then mid paragraph I deleted the whole thing. I said to myself, "who cares? You don't owe anyone an explanation for your choices."Read More
I have loved photography since I was a kid. Seeing all of the photo albums that my grandmother kept and the tons of pictures she had on her mantel. I was surrounded by it at an early age. In High School I was the girl that always had a disposable camera in hand. I loved taking pictures of and with my friends. I always wanted my very own polaroid but I never got one. Lucky for me they are making a come back. Putting the Instax on my wish list.Read More
