Wednesday Words of Gratitude: Second Chances
As I look at where my life is today I cannot say that the route to this place was completely by choice. Most of it was the result of a domino effect of other moments from my past. It left me with a lot of closed chapters and some fresh perspectives on life. When it comes to second chances I have received more than my fair share. Second chances to make better decisions. Second chances at love. Second chances at living in my truth. Second chances at friendships. The biggest one has to be the second chance at life by giving it all to God.
Regardless of where you are in life or the reasons for your fresh start, at some point we have to move forward. You have to make conscious choices unless you want to stay stuck. It doesn't benefit us to dwell on the past. The better option is to give thanks to our past for bringing us to this exact moment. You may be a little scuffed up and bruised but you are a lot smarter, wiser and even a little more humble.
My advice, give thanks. Thank your past for the lessons. For teaching you how to love. For giving you standards and a guide to help you move forward. Today I am grateful for second chances. Without it I wouldn't know what my purpose is. I wouldn't be the mother I am. Or love the way I do.
I wanted to share some photos from my last session. It is so fitting with today's post. This past weekend I had a chance to capture a young, new and growing love between two great people. Despite one of them having a ton of reasons to never love again. With God's help they received a second chance to love and be loved. I am so inspired by the strength and ability they have shown by letting love in. It's so beautiful to watch! Photography for me is the ability to tell someone's story and to preserve it in images. I hope I have conveyed that well in this set.
"Life is about uncertainty. Be present. Live fully in this moment. Soak up the little things. And enjoy the ride." | Kim Becking
Are you stuck at a crossroad? Are you clinging to the past and afraid to move forward? Don't be. Take a leap! Even if you fall take joy in knowing that you have lived fully, experienced love and took a chance. Dust yourself off and figure out the lessons for that chapter. Start the next chapter with fresh eyes and new insights. I pray that you allow yourself many second chances. Until next time, Peace Peace!
